Celebrating Student Success: Glend Berrocal Admitted to the UIW Master of Biomedical Sciences Program
I am very pleased to share some exciting news from our chemistry community at the University of the Incarnate Word. My student, Glend Berrocal, has been admitted to the Master of Biomedical Sciences (MBS) Program at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine, beginning in August 2026.
Admission to the MBS program is highly competitive and reflects a strong record of academic achievement, dedication, and commitment to pursuing a career in the biomedical and health sciences. Glend’s acceptance is a testament to his perseverance, intellectual curiosity, and passion for advancing his education in preparation for a future career in medicine.
Throughout his time as an undergraduate, Glend has demonstrated the qualities we hope to see in future physicians and scientists: discipline, resilience, and a genuine desire to understand complex scientific concepts. These attributes, combined with his commitment to academic excellence, made him an outstanding candidate for this program.
The MBS program at the UIW School of Osteopathic Medicine provides rigorous preparation for students pursuing careers in medicine and biomedical research. It is designed to strengthen students’ scientific foundation while preparing them for the next steps toward professional school.
Seeing our students continue their academic journey and pursue meaningful careers in healthcare is one of the most rewarding aspects of teaching and mentorship. I am incredibly proud of Glend and confident that he will thrive in this next chapter of his academic and professional development.
Please join me in congratulating Glend Berrocal on this outstanding accomplishment. We look forward to seeing all that he will achieve in the years ahead.
Congratulations, Glend!
